Collaboration with Industry

To promote scientific collaboration with Industry, JILA encourages the interaction of JILA scientists with researchers pursuing related studies in industrial organizations through its Industry Outreach Program.

The W.M. Keck Optical Measurement Laboratory provides many instruments for optical measurement and characterization that are available to local industry.

The Optical Science and Engineering Program (OSEP) is a multidisciplinary graduate training program in optics, leading to a CU-granted certificate (in addition to the PhD or MS degrees). As a requirement of the program, students participate in a summer-long industry internship. An eight-member Industrial Advisory Board meets annually to offer guidance to the program.
